About the Children's Academy

The Children's Academy is an integrated, multidisciplinary K-5th grade school for children with speech and language delays. We strongly believe in the academic potential of all children and we strive to ensure that our students realize their full capabilities. The goal of the Children’s Academy is to empower each student by combining a rigorous academic curriculum with individualized support to nurture the child’s strengths and remediate areas of weakness. Each classroom at the Children’s Academy is comprised of one lead teacher, one speech therapist, and one teacher’s assistant. A maximum of six students, grouped according to their development and within two years of age of each other, form a classroom. Although the curriculum generally is taught to the entire class, the class divides into smaller groups to provide more individualized assistance for certain elements of the curriculum. The Children’s Academy is conveniently located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on the bright and spacious second-floor at 350 East 82nd Street, in-between 1st and 2nd Avenues.

The Children's Academy operates on a 12-month school year basis with classroom hours from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  An after-school program will be available soon for an additional fee.  The after-school program will focus on play, social interactions, community experiences, and development of hobbies.
