History

The Children’s Academy was founded in 2009 as a collaboration between Dr. Cecelia McCarton, a renowned developmental pediatrician, and a parent of a child with speech and language delays who was searching for an appropriate school placement for the child. The team determined there was a dramatic need for an elementary school that effectively addressed the issues associated with speech and language delays. The Children’s Academy was created with the intent to provide young children with intensive speech and language assistance for whatever time period needed to give them the necessary tools to succeed in a mainstream classroom.
