How to Apply
The best way to begin the admission process is to complete our inquiry form. You are also welcome to contact our Admissions Director, Joe Surak, at jsurak@childrensacademynyc.org to arrange an open house and take a self-guided virtual tour of our school.
The inquiry form is the first step. It tells us a little about your family and helps us understand which questions to ask and which forms and documents we will need from you, so we can tailor the rest of the process to your child. The entire process takes place in Veracross, and you will use the same login at every step. Once you have submitted the inquiry form, you will be able to sign in to the Veracross admissions portal to complete your application, including the application materials. If you run into any technical trouble along the way, please reach out to our Director of Finance and Operations, Lawrence Feltz, at lfeltz@childrensacademynyc.org.
Application Materials
As part of the application, please submit the following evaluations and reports:
- Speech and Language Evaluation
- Neuropsychological Evaluation
- Individual Educational Program (IEP), or most recent school report
- Occupational Therapy Evaluation (if available)
Please ensure that submitted reports are dated within the past 12 months. If digital copies of reports and documents are not available, you are welcome to mail copies to: Children's Academy, Attn: Admissions, 317 East 50th Street, New York, NY 10022.
Not every family has all of these materials on hand right away, and that is completely fine. Just let Joe know, and he will help you figure out the best way forward.
After we review your submitted materials, we may elect to observe your child in his or her present classroom. In addition, potential students will be invited to visit Children's Academy and interact with our current students in the classroom.
