Who We Serve
Children's Academy is designed for students who benefit from a language-based, therapeutic approach to learning. Our students often have profiles that include language and communication disorders, specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD and executive-functioning challenges, or social-communication and sensory needs. They are curious, kind, and full of potential, and they do their best work when instruction is structured, multisensory, and paced to meet them where they are. We are not the right fit for every learner, so our admissions team works closely with each family to understand their child's profile and make sure Children's Academy is the place where they will flourish. Many of the children who join us are bright and capable but have found that a traditional classroom moves too quickly or leaves their learning needs unmet. In our small classrooms, with a low student-to-teacher ratio and a Speech-Language Pathologist on every teaching team, those same students are finally able to be fully known and supported. We meet each child where they are and group them by skill level rather than grade, so they are challenged at the right pace while their confidence stays intact. Occupational therapy and social-emotional learning are woven into the day, helping students build the focus, regulation, and self-advocacy skills that carry well beyond the classroom. Just as importantly, we partner closely with families through an open-door culture, because we believe a child grows best when school and home work as one team. Above all, we serve students who simply need to be understood, and we are proud to be the school where they discover just how much they are capable of.
