Occupational Therapy
At The Children's Academy, occupational therapy is woven into the fabric of every school day rather than treated as a service that happens off to the side. Each classroom is supported by an occupational therapist who works alongside teaching staff, so students receive meaningful, hands-on support in the same environment where they learn, play, and grow.
Therapy is delivered in a variety of ways to match each child's needs. Students take part in one-on-one sessions, attend small-group sessions throughout the week, and benefit from daily push-in support, in which the therapist joins the classroom to reinforce skills during regular activities. This blended model means progress made in therapy carries directly over into everyday learning.
Our occupational therapists help students build the foundational skills that support both learning and independence, including gross motor coordination, fine motor control, handwriting, and keyboard and technology skills. Every student receives an annual comprehensive occupational therapy evaluation, so families and staff can track growth and set meaningful goals together.
